Inter vs Bayer Leverkusen Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Christian Eriksen, Inter

Two former Europa League champions will vie for a place in the semi-finals when Inter take on Bayer Leverkusen at the Dusseldorf Arena on Monday.

Having won all four of their knockout stage matches since dropping down from the Champions League, Bayer are available at 13/5 (3.60) with bet365 to come out on top in their homeland.

The Nerazzurri overcame Getafe 2-0 in a one-off tie last week after the first leg was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and they are 21/20 (2.05) favourites to rise to the occasion once again.

Just one of this pair’s combined 19 European matches this season has resulted in a draw, but you can get odds of 5/2 (3.50) on them taking this one into extra-time following a stalemate.

Alexis Sanchez is set to take part after completing his permanent transfer to Inter last week, although Matias Vecino and Stefano Sensi are both ruled out through injury.

Kerem Demirbay is available once again following suspension, while Charles Aranguiz is suspended and Paulinho a long-term injury absentee.

Having suffered a difficult spell with three damaging defeats in five matches prior to lockdown, Antonio Conte’s men bounced back after the restart to lose just once in 15 fixtures and seal second place in Serie A with big wins over Napoli and Atalanta.

With that in the bag, they can now focus fully on a competition that has not always seemed particularly high on the priority list and aim to cap the season with some silverware.

In contrast, lockdown came at the wrong time for Die Werkself, who were undefeated in 10 matches prior to suspension of play but have lost four of the last 10 fixtures coming into this one.

Considering their superior quality, those 21/20 (2.05) odds look well worth backing on Inter proving too strong for Leverkusen.
