Manchester United vs Chelsea Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Bruno Fernandes Manchester United 2020-21

Manchester United welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men looking for their first home win of the Premier League season.

Chelsea have also been fairly erratic this season with two 3-3 draws and two Premier League wins to their name, although they were outplayed for large parts of their 0-0 draw at home to Sevilla on Tuesday evening.

United have failed to win any of their last four home Premier League encounters and bet365 offer them at 29/20 (2.45) to end that run with a victory.

The Blues, for their part, have won just three of their last 11 encounters on the road and can be backed at 7/4 (2.75) with the draw at 13/5 (3.60).

Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are ruled out through injury while Anthony Martial is suspended. Harry Maguire, Mason Greenwood and Jesse Lingard are currently being assessed, while Edinson Cavani could be ready to make his debut.

Chelsea's only injury absentee in Billy Gilmour, who is still missing with a knee problem.

Neither side have been convincing defensively this term and the market reflects the expectations of another high-scoring spectacle.

United's games in the Premier League are currently averaging 5.25 goals while Chelsea's are at 4.40, and there seems little reason to oppose an open encounter once more.

Solskjaer's men have scored in all seven of their competitive fixtures this season, while Frank Lampard's side have scored in six of their eight clashes and the most recent encounter between these teams saw the Londoners triumph 3-1 in the FA Cup in July.

Chelsea's defensive record continues to be extremely poor with the side keeping just one clean sheet in their last 21 away games in the Premier League, while United have conceded in their last five home matches.

Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals is priced at 5/6 (1.83) and looks a strong selection for this game, one which has paid out in five of United's last eight league games and in eight of Chelsea's last nine away matches.

Odds correct at the time of writing. Please gamble responsibly.
