ESPN claim that Klopp is also casting glances the way of Skriniar, despite the Slovak recently losing his place in Antonio Conte's Inter starting XI.
Skrtel is aware of interest from Liverpool and from clubs in Spain, but believes his fellow Slovak would be better served knuckling down and fighting for his place at Inter.
"There are moments in the life of every player where things go really well, but there are also moments where things don’t go as planned,” Skrtel told Sport Aktuality.“When this happens it is important for a player to react. Skriniar is going through something similar to this at Inter.
“In recent games he has lost his role as a starter and there is more and more talk about the fact that he could leave the club. Buthe is still young and he should remain strong and fight for his recovery.
“Although there is the interest of English and Spanish clubs, the best solution for him would be to stay at Inter, where he has built a great name for himself.”
Should Klopp follow up any interest in Skriniar, or any other defender under contract to a club, he would have to wait until January 1 to make his move - which spans 11 games in all competitions.
There are free-transfer options, one of which is reported to be former Newcastle defender Daryl Janmaat, but the Dutchman would not bring the stature of a player like Skriniar.
